Matt owns Doctor Rock, the best independent vinyl record store in late 80’s London. He has extensive knowledge of what he sells—everything, really, even if his preference is 70’s music. He’s passionate, nerdy and couldn’t dream of a better place to be than behind his counter or scouring garage sales for gems that will end up either in his personal collection or on a shelf in his store. He’s got some regulars, and he feels happy every time a newcomer becomes one.
Mello might become one of those, as he steps into the store for the first time and leaves with a few records Matt recommended and a crush on the owner. This is a fic that is heavily inspired/build upon the AU stories written by @sundaisies. I highly recommend you read her series ("You are Flesh and Blood and Deserve to be Loved") before these. They're excellent and it gives a lot more backstory as to how they developed a relationship, and how they're here now.
This story starts post-rescue after Hannah takes Natalie back to the US from the hospital in Canada where she was for a few months recovering from near starvation and Shauna shooting her. In this AU, Hannah also has custody of Alex.
