Summary
In this story, Stuart Sutcliffe didn't die in 1962 and instead is a working artist living in London with Astrid, occasionally doing freelance work for his old friends the Beatles. Stuart and Astrid have an open marriage and each embark on passionate queer relationships in 1968, which bring them both joy but challenge their stability as a couple. Meanwhile, Stuart is worried about John and his seeming mental breakdown, and has very mixed feelings about John's way of dealing with this. This draws him closer to his old enemy Paul, who he has developed a better relationship with over the years, but who he still has trouble understanding. Events contrive to draw Stuart deeper into the vortex of chaos caused by John and Paul's prolonged, painful breakup, while he simultaneously struggles to keep a handle on his increasingly complex personal life.

The Beatles are geniuses...except when it comes to feelings. Literally everything bad happens, but everyone pulls through eventually and learns they're not entirely straight.

“Promise, Paul” John sounds needy.
“I promise, Johnny” says Paul.
––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
A series of memories, promises, secrets, codes, and lies upon which Paul has redefined his entire life.
The idea comes from Days We Left Behind. It is not an interpretation. It is purely fiction from my mind.

Summary
At first, this was going to be a retelling events in John’s life, which it is. But then, as I was thinking of what I wanted to do, I realized that they all involved Paul. And then I realized what it is and what it always was going to be, and that was, at its heart, retelling the story of JohnandPaul/PaulandJohn, for one is necessary to the other.
My idea was to have this all finished and posted by the 8th. But for me, that defeats the purpose of having written it in the first place, which is to have John existing past “that” day. I also decided to write it in the present tense, which I normally don’t do, but for me it goes along with the idea that John is still here.
I've changed some things. So, for example, the fété still happens, but it’s not where he and Paul meet because they know each other before then. Other people are also introduced sooner, like George and Stuart
Geography and location will also be tricky and amorphous, meaning I’ll make it do what I need it to do to tell the story, by gum.

John Lennon has always felt a little different from most other boys, for lots of reasons - his intellect, his artistry, his childhood, his insanity - but the biggest difference that he carries is his own body.

' George resumes his shaving, not before throwing a sizeable dagger at Paul. "Honestly, I prefered when you were throwing yourself at any passerby. At least you cared about hygiene and all that sort of stuff." '
***
Somewhere in between the endless parties, booze, and sex, Paul lost a piece of himself that won't stop slipping further and further away. The piece that Linda had carried, while she still wanted him. It's with the sour taste of rejection and vomit on his tongue that he meets a seemingly equally messed up man.

What do you do when the man you love and devote yourself to has made it very clear he can't stand your mere existence?
Easy.
You let John Lennon come up with a plan— and you don't ask too many questions.
It's not like Stuart Sutcliffe has any other options, anyway.

Summary
The hotel room was dark, only lit by a standing lamp in the corner. The dim lightbulb still seemed too bright for what was happening in that room. They could still see each other…why were they looking at each other?
John and Paul had two beautiful women in front of them yet they were looking at each other. They’d seen each other’s naked bodies plenty of times but this was different. They weren’t just naked, frantically changing into their suits before a show; no, they were sweaty, performing something they’d never do on television.

Summary

Summary
John Lennon, tired dad, walking disaster, expert at all things inappropriate, is just about desperate enough to take the first job that’ll have him. He doesn’t expect it to land him inside the polished office of Apple Corps, wrangling calendars and crises. And he definitely doesn’t expect his new boss to be bloody millionaire Paul McCartney, charming, infuriating, and far too good at making John forget he’s supposed to be working.
Somehow he ends up as a personal assistant, a job he’s wildly unqualified for, except maybe in sarcasm and showing up late. Between flat whites, childcare, and more longing than he'd ever like to admit, John discovers that working for Paul might be the biggest mess of his life… and somehow, the best thing that’s ever happened to him.

Summary
“See ya at the Derby, lads,” Paul says as he puts on his tweed coat, which fits him annoyingly well (and also hides his arse annoyingly well). “Can’t wait for Goodison Park to welcome you back.”
“Me neither,” John purrs, and chuckles at George’s rude hand gesture as the two Evertonians take their leave.
Ringo’s not chuckling. He’s busy wiping his pants with napkins, glaring at John all the while. “The fuck was that all about?” he demands.
That means it’s game on, John thinks, picturing Paul McCartney’s face in his mind and imagining how pretty it’s gonna look in defeat. He can’t wait for the Merseyside Derby.
In the season of 1959-60, John Lennon and Paul McCartney are both made captains of rival football clubs, Liverpool and Everton, making them natural enemies.
But it's difficult to remember that, as with every encounter they grow more and more fascinated with each other. -

Motorcars, handlebars, bicycles for two. A sentimental jamboree, anyone?
Or, drafts in my WIP folder that are tentatively abandoned, or were bits and bobs that were taken out of now complete fics, or are just not actively being worked on. But these excerpts are self-contained enough that people may get something out of them! So I decided to post them rather than letting them languish and die in my drafts.

Summary
Countless nights. No sleep. Polished white-y pills. Constant “Verpiss dich, du Dreckskerl!”, sex, shit, popping strings. You'd probably ask something in between the lines of “what the fuck are they on?”, but I'll say one word: Hamburg. That run down, violent and never recovered from the war town, mess of a place, and turns out, well, long story short: a perfect place for five “oh so tough” young (and, must say quite stinky) lads to fit in.

George looked from Paul to John to Paul again. “Paul’s trying to take Stu’s place on bass.”
“Is that all?”
Paul snorted, then looked up at John, eyes intense. “Anything he can do I can do better.”
