After the Ferngill Republic has been ravaged by both war with the Gotoro Empire and a pandemic causing millions of men to die of testicular cancer because of an DNA-altering virus, a new regime is founded by a group known as the Daughters of Judgement. This group renames the state "Ferngilead" and attempts to create a nation built on TERF ideology after Ferngill has been seriously damaged by circumstances almost no one could have foreseen. This dystopia executes transfeminine people, forces transmen into surrogacy and domestic servitude to "reconnect them with their womanhood", and offers AFAB enbies a choice between being sent away to dungeons to die or becoming "guarded ones".
Three years after the founding of Ferngilead, Shane is now a "motherservant" assigned to Eunmi and Harvey to provide them with a female heir. After he reunited with Emily, now the household's "guarded one", he finds his resolve to survive and maybe one day reunite with his goddaughter Jas is strengthened by hope and love in one of the darkest Stardew Valley AUs.(After years of studying political science, I asked myself "what would a dystopia run by TERFs be like?" and now am trying to answer it with this weird crossover fic)

Similar to Built to Break-Alternate ending, this story will be the same up to a certain point, and then switch into an alternate version. Chapter 25 is where things will begin to shift from the original.
If you have read the original, I have gone back and added some author's notes at the end of the chapters with some thoughts and insights you might enjoy, instead of rereading the whole thing... though I find that rereading it sometimes hits different when you know the ending will change.
