First bombs dropped, then I opened my eyes and my son was in someone else’s arms, and a bullet was through my husband’s head. I can feel tears prick at the corners of my eyes as I whisper quick profanities under my breath. The cryo-pod cracks open with a groan, and something breaks off in little pieces onto the concrete floor of the vault.
