“PLEASE!” a young man shouted back, his voice ragged with terror. “This is INSANE! Let me go, I’m not just a monster!” And Walsh went still, because the voice reminded him so strongly of someone he once knew. “Please! Mercy! MERCY!”
“The sun is coming up,” the first voice said, softly but firmly, not bothering to shout over the panicked cries. “You don’t have time for this..."
“Oh God, oh God, oh God, nonono NO— FUCK—”
There was a flash of orange light from around the corner, and the woosh of something going up rapidly in flames, and the second voice began wordlessly screaming. Walsh bolted for the hole in the wall.
The hunter looked up from the altar, upon which a body bound in chains was burning from the waist up and writhing in agony.

When an investigation into a missing friend of his old colleague's son took the three of them to the edges of the city, Walsh, Kowalski, and Andy knew they might run into the walking dead out on the fringes. Exterminating them is what Walsh and Kowalski used to *do* to protect their terminal.
