Summary

Thanks for giving my fic a view! This is a story I've been writing on my free time for a while. I'm hoping to post a new chapter weekly, sometimes sooner, sometimes later. Also, please be warned that this story is mainly from the point-of-view of an Institute Courser, as well as a few extra characters who are less-than-morally-upstanding, so there will be several topics that might not be appropriate for some readers, such as torture, slavery, rape, and a lot of very bloody gore. Summary
I was reading a fic that handles the Shaun relationship in a very interesting way and I thought, "God, imagine someone with my hyperspecific parental trauma being thrown into that situation." Then I remembered saying just like two days ago that Fallout 4 was a great vehicle for self-insert fic and thought, "Ha! Imagine if I actually wrote that! I could even fix the ending!"
Sixty thousand words later, it's a stream-of-consciousness mess, but it's certainly fun to write.

But after getting to know a little more about this teenage girl with incredible human capabilities and a tragic past that alludes to something much more sinister at play, he decided he wasn’t willing to let such a young life end so quickly nor let the monsters of the wastes get their claws deeper into her poor soul.
Aka- I give Detective RoboDad a very traumatized and shattered child that he’s completely unprepared for to take under his wing. Now he must learn how to care for a kid and attempt to help her pick up the broken pieces of her life and soul and breathe new life into her.

Six decades before the bombs fell, the Commonwealth Institute of Technology cooperated with the secretive government faction known as the Enclave on a top secret project called American Excellence to produce super soldiers for the United States military. The survivors were enhanced, achieving peak human physicality or psychic powers depending on reaction to the medical process, and paired together to produce new officers for the army of the future.
Some of those survivors became the founders of the Brotherhood of Steel. Others were part of the Irish Mob in Massachusetts. Two were preserved in a cryogenic Vault until someone stole their only child away. One escaped and thrived in the Commonwealth. The other was released ten years later into a world inherently hostile to her, making an alliance with Recon Squad Gladius.

Summary
An abandoned holotape and journal was found in the wastes of the Commonwealth, out on the edge of the Glowing Sea.
Inside, a diary of a scout-turned explorer with a taste for adventure (and ghouls). Absinthe is a drunkard determined to live life to the fullest, but most of all, to find her place in a broken wasteland where logic is a suggestion and honor is punished. Little does she know arriving to Goodneighbor, searching for work, would begin a chain of events so dire it leaves her *glowing* with rage.
The Commonwealth's citizens are already buckling under the Institute's watchful eye, but what happens when a new player enters the game? It creeps with its roots, crawling between crevices and leaving behind a glowing trail of muck. Questions are answered with only more questions and the deep rumbling of the earth-- will there be an end, or a new beginning for the already struggling wasteland?
