When the Hidden Valley bunker was reduced to a tomb, the Brotherhood of Steel died with it, leaving only Paladin Alan Clarke and Scribe Lena Hagen to carry the weight of a shattered legacy. Forced out of the shadows and into a Mojave that has moved on without them, they track the trail of the "Shadow" responsible for their ruin: a Courier who has toppled empires and remade New Vegas in his own image. What began as a desperate hunt for vengeance soon becomes a struggle for identity, as the last survivors of a dead Order must decide if they are still soldiers of the Steel, or merely ghosts haunted by a world that no longer has room for their laws.

The question remains: what—and at what cost ? Is she really guided by her choices or by what has been programmed into her, hidden deep within ?(Started right after my Fallout 3 play, with my character that I called "my NPC" XD -it seems like so many lifetimes ago-... Between different versions, more than 200 pages in the "to finish" folder, here's what's come out of it, so far...)

She never finished turning. Frozen at twenty-eight, suspended between human and ghoul, her body became something unnatural: stable, altered, and unknowingly invaluable. After escaping, she buried the truth and survived by keeping her head down—until the bounty exposed her existence.
What neither of them understands at first is that Ivy’s blood heals Cooper. Not like chems. Not like stimpaks. Something deeper. Slower. Real. Stronger. Addictive.
Around her, he decays less. When he drinks her blood, he heals completely.
She becomes the one thing he’s never had in the wasteland: relief.
As the line between protection and possession blurs, Cooper must confront what he’s becoming—and Ivy must decide how much of herself she’s willing to give to stay alive in a world that only sees her as a resource.

Caesar ran a series of aptitude tests on select adolescent recruits for years, striking gold when his cartographer's apprentice--the boy the captures from the Salt Lake tribe called Foxtrot--tested low in empathy and high in manipulativeness. For the Fox of the Wasteland, what started as learning to map-make for the Legion and lying when he got caught by the tribals he observed, quickly became a game of espionage, assessing defenses, and exploiting weaknesses. They were all figurines to move across the playing field and he was five moves ahead... Maybe that's why he enjoyed chasing the wildcard so much.
(This is a Post-First-Battle-of-Hoover-Dam fan-fiction set in early 2281. I hope angst is your cup of tea, because it will overflow).
