Summary
Too many years ago to count The Star Blotter found his way out of the void, not that anyone particularly noticed. The voidwalkers kept up their worship, and the "stars" just kept shining bright in the sky without interruption. He spent his time running through worlds, alone and unaware there was another option. That is, until he pulls his comm out with too much force and the glitching screen sends him onto Hermitcraft. Now trapped and convinced other players are no different than the mobs he runs until he's caught. Cornered and scared, can Moss learn what it means to be loved? What it means to live here, on earth, instead of floating in the void?
And what of who he was before? Will it even matter come the end?

The Watchers didn't tell Grian much about the new life games, only that it would be like Evolution SMP. When the game begins Grian freezes, seeing the skin the Watchers put him in. They choose to remind him of his past, not Evo, not even his high school years, but his life as a wizard in a far off kingdom of Valor... He'd never told anyone of that life, refused to due to the terrible things that happened during it. How is he meant to play this new season when he's too petrified to even look at himself?

100% of the first chapter was written before the series came out (Past life) so this is just going to be inaccurate asf. I also added Mythical Sausage and the Orion sound because I wanted them to join the series. Sue me. 3 Plus mumbo is there too because that was also written before it was released and i'm not re-writting chapter two either because I wanted mumbo in the season okay.

Xelqua's vision starts to flicker out. The last thing he sees is a tall, muscular man running towards him in shock.. Maybe? He wasn't sure. Xelqua's head hurts really bad and if he had a choice, he'd rather die here.
Then, before he can get another thought in, it all goes black.
AKA:
Xelqua, (Grian) gets kicked from the circle of Watchers and sent to the LIFE world. The highest vigilante around, Scar, aka HotGuy finds Grian unconscious in a random park and drags him back to his 2 bedroom apartment. Scar's roommate and best friend-for-life, Gem, is not amused but lets Grian in anyway. Xelqua tries to manoeuvre himself through this world (that he was ironically a large part in creating in) without letting his two newfound roommates his secret. Oh yeah, somehow, Scar convinced Xelqua to be his partner-in-crime.
The vigilante aspect of this story, especially the outfits for hotguy and stuff, is inspired by Doody. (@kitsuneisi on Tumblr)

PearlescentMoon has never played by the twisted rules of the death games. She finds some way to get her own way throughout the trials and tribulations of the games. This time something is different. With the giant secret keeper looming over them, and the strange familiarity of it, Pearl's more focused on figuring out what that thing is and why she knows it. Throughout the games she's going to have to trust her allies and fight with people who she used to call family as memories of outside of the games come back to her.
She's certain that this is a game to play -- but only if she can do it her way.

If Grian had the capacity to be poetic, he might find some way to describe the way understanding settles on Mumbo's face. He might have something profound to say about the way a cry for help transcends every language barrier, or about the way Mumbo’s fear slithers away to be replaced by concern that might make him weep if he were able to do something like that anymore.
“Oh. Oh! You need help. The Enderman monstrosity needs help. Well – well, I, uh, I know a guy. Yeah, his name’s Xisuma, and he – he’s really good with this kind of stuff? So just… sit tight. Yeah. Uh, let me call him –”
He does not have the capacity, however. He barely has the capacity to understand the waterfall of words cascading over his being. So he simply drops to the ground, tugs his code like a blanket around him, and prays that Mumbo will catch his broken pieces.

Grian has two options: spend the rest of eternity serving the Watchers, or jump into the void and let it rip him apart in a slow, agonizing death.
He chooses the second option. Then, miraculously, the universe offers him a third.

Jimmy stepped closer, to see what was it that had caused the crater, what was capturing Pearl’s attention.
When he stepped next to her, he spotted a big black something, possibly charred from its tumble through the atmosphere. It had a spiky texture, something that looked like feathers, if it wasn’t for the fact that they wouldn’t have survived the friction of such a long fall. Not to speak of the immense velocity and altitude a hypothetical feathered creature would have to reach to burn up and cause such an impact. Besides, no creature would have shattered upon impact like this thing did, with lavender light seeping through the cracks.
OR:
When Jimmy and Pearl are out in the forest, they find Grian who fell from the sky and forgot who they are. And Grian? Grian tries to figure out who they are and causes chaos in the meantime.

So Scar has been selected for the starring role in a death game! That’s fine, it is perfectly expected and fine. Someone had to notice his charisma and star power (SCARRRR POWER) sooner or later.
Also, Scar grew up High Vex, which meant that “battle royale vs your friends and family, loser gets hunted for sport” was pretty much just another Tuesday for him. True, he’d never been much good at that part of the High Vex lifestyle, to the point that his family had been preparing to sell his Name to an Evoker before Cub helped him skip town—but! The point is! He has experience.
(or: the Third Life AU where Scar knows a little more than he should, and Grian's life is so terrible that the death game is kind of healing, actually.)

Not really odd as he was introverted with most of the other Hermits (aside of Mumbo of course). The server understood his hesitance in interacting, most of them were wary of him themselves. He was a Watcher after all, who wouldn’t be at least slightly nervous? But it had been weeks since anyone besides Mumbo had seen him and the others were a little worried. So, they decided to be a little more welcoming…
aka: Four times the other Hermits attempted to coax Grian into a friendly interaction longer than a moment and one time they succeeded.

“Not sure…” He drawled, trailing his gaze up to the border. Scar hummed and nodded moving a little closer to the avian.

Etho, while wandering to what he thought was the edge of the Hermitcraft world, instead comes across a hill that leads up to an infinitely spanning grassy field where the sun never moves and it's freezing fucking cold.
And what does he do, while totally not under the influence of you know who (The Watchers) and totally not against the word of Xisuma after he alerted the admin of the anomaly? He builds a 21 story tall Watchtower that may or may not end up almost killing him and certainly destroying his mental health from the inside out.
Oh, and the Watchers are bad.P.S: All of the Hermits up to season 10 are in here, but I probably forgot to mention all of them so I tagged everybody I can remember. But the season isn't actually specified but it's meant to be interpreted as one of the later seasons, like between S7-10 I suppose
The AU itself is called "There's Something In The Sky", but the shorter version is called Static Skies AU, so both can be used interchangeably

Summary
The sun could be good.
The sun provided light to even the most microscopic flora. Its brilliant rays encouraging seedlings to sprout from the cold, bare ground, promising a lifetime of safety and security. It promised sight to those unfortunate to be chosen in the Life Games. It promised shadows casted by shuddering trees or creaking buildings.
Scar also learnt that the sun could be bad.
Pounding mercilessly into the sand dunes of the desert he called home. Drying out precious water rations. Burning and blistering his bare shoulders the deep maroon of his name. With the life it protects, the sun could take it just as quickly.
He was used to these problems.
One of those problems was Grian.
