Summary
When Match fails to complete his mission to kill Project Thirteen, he takes the unconscious idiot on the road as he flees for his life, defecting from the organization that created and raised him. He makes it less than three hours before his newfound freedom is stripped away and he is taken into Justice League custody.
Match doesn't have high hopes for the future, especially not once he finds out that he's going to be kept in Batman's custody, but he's at the very least starting to think he might be able to avoid decommissioning if he plays his cards right.
Too bad for him that he's never been any good at cards.
||I just wanted to write pathetic Match. If you don't know who Match is, that is fine. He's a clone of Kon and that's really all you need to know. And also for a note on canon, why would a copy of a copy be closer to the original than the primary copy? Toons adore her for her fame and her tech. She's nearly as popular as Dandy themself! She has no reason to hate her body and herself like she does. Yet, even with all of this, she feels worthless, like old tech. Incompetent and breaking.

That was until he was caught. Being taken by hunters changed everything. He comes back to a life full of pain, cages, and cruelty. That was until he met Etho.
Etho wasn’t scared when he was captured again. He had grown up in the system, he knew what he was getting into when the hunters pinned him down and took him to a cage. He knew his friends, who referred to themselves as the Hermits, a group of hybrids hiding safely away from hunters, would come save him.
So when he meets Joel, he promises him that he’d get him out. Joel struggles to trust him, but as the two survive captivity together, Joel realizes that maybe he could learn to trust again. Maybe a friend was something he actually did need in life.

After their world was shattered by Cassandra's betrayal Eugene, Rapunzel, and Lance return to Corona only to find the kingdom devoid of its usual life. Finding out the Saporians took over the throne certainly wasn't the welcome home they were expecting. It was up to them to once again save the day— or, rather, the kingdom in this case— and put the criminals back in the deepest pits of the dungeon where they belong. The fact that Eugene could barely even recall who the Saporians even were made him confident it would be easy to put a stop to their takeover. It's just one more mess to clean up before they could finally try to settle down to process all the chaos they suffered through in the Dark Kingdom. Of course, things could never be that easy. He really should have known better. Finding out Varian was working with the Separatists made things infuriatingly complicated but it was finding out how they treated the alchemist that sent everything Eugene thought he knew up in flames. No amount of resentment he harbored for Varian could make Eugene stand by and let Varian suffer like this at Andrew's hands. Actually, he was beginning to question if he still had any anger left.

They simply sat in silence as Mydei’s thumb brushed over Phainon’s hurrying pulse point. Upwards. He pressed the centre of his palm and his fingers twitched in response, half-closed before opening again.
