Years ago, Robin leader of the Teen Titans left the Titans after the Trigon incident. It left scars that refused to heal and he couldn't lead the team with how he was. Without him most of the team split up within the year. Years pass with little sign and things heal. Slade starts to hear rumors as Deathstroke of a new government run program. He doesn't think much of it as long as they don't attempt to interfere with his work it wasn't his problem. However, his son's disappearance on a job had him worried.
Dick never thought his past would come back to bite him in the ass like this. Maybe he'd come across the Justice League during a mission for Shaw. Or maybe he'd run into the Titans again. But when he recognized the person he'd been sent to rescue that created a new problem. He couldn't hand over Grant to Shaw. Getting Grant back to Slade was priority one even if it meant he became an enemy. Hidden truths come as things go downhill.

Al parecer, Slade tiene la capacidad de ceder a impulsos protectores alfa y Robin dejarse llevar por la calma de ser un cachorro omega. Es una dinámica extraña para que funcione el aprendizaje.
