Summary
Summer after high school graduation. Peter is nineteen. Peter gets a summer job taking photos for the Daily Bugle, where he meets and befriends three coworkers: Betty Brant, Eddie Brock, and Leo Havin (OC).
This summer, Harry comes back from Europe to tend for his dying dad. Unbeknownst to Harry and Peter, Norman has pulled some strings and broken an ex-convict out of prison: Mac Gargan. Gargan was an assassin for Wilson Fisk, taking out some of New York’s (and the world’s) highest crime lords—no matter what bystanders got in his way. Norman, however, is hiring Gargan for something else… something that could save his life. And he’ll do anything to get it.
Along the way, Peter is struggling to accept himself; as both Spider-Man, and Peter Parker. Through friendship and some unexpected feelings, Peter goes on a journey of self-discovery whilst tackling one of his toughest villains yet.

His body seemed frozen in time, his perception of the world limited to a single brief moment in the past. The world continued to live, but Matt was stuck in the moment when the end of the world came. That terrifying moment when Foggy sighed and his chest no longer rose. Matt continued to feel the warmth leaving Foggy, the blood oozing from the wound and staining Karen's hands scarlet, even though Foggy had long since been taken away by the ambulance. His shoulder still burned from Poindexter's light pat, mocking, haughty, taunting. Matt was still in that moment, in that state of horror, anger, and grief, and was in absolute mental agony.
The kind he had never experienced before. The kind that penetrated not just to his bones, but to every molecule in his body.

On the streets and left as a living ghost, he hasn't given up on being Spider-Man. He hasn't given up on other people. He's only given up on himself, and that's still a tragedy. But even at his lowest, he's always what every hero aspires to be. It doesn't hurt that both Dr. Doom and the Incredible Hulk are stuck in the same mess.
A slow burn superhero story about Peter Parker starting from the lowest point I can possibly put him in, and battling his way to the very top. This is going to be a long one, and while it starts off in a sad place, the overall direction will always be to somewhere more positive. There will be setbacks. Not everything will work out. But my promise is that he'll always be in a better place than where he started.
