Con el pasado en blanco y un profundo vacío en su interior, Peter se ve obligado a comenzar desde cero en una ciudad sombría que no perdona la debilidad, pero a medida que intenta adaptarse a su nueva realidad, pequeños fragmentos de su vida anterior comienzan a filtrarse en su mente. Cada recuerdo recuperado lo empuja hacia adelante y, a la vez, lo obliga a dar unos pasos atrás.
Dick Grayson creía que por fin las piezas de su vida empezaban a encajar. El caos constante al que estaba acostumbrado parecía haberse calmado y la estabilidad por la que tanto luchó comenzaba a tomar forma. Summer after high school graduation. Peter is nineteen. Peter gets a summer job taking photos for the Daily Bugle, where he meets and befriends three coworkers: Betty Brant, Eddie Brock, and Leo Havin (OC).
This summer, Harry comes back from Europe to tend for his dying dad. Unbeknownst to Harry and Peter, Norman has pulled some strings and broken an ex-convict out of prison: Mac Gargon. Gargon was an assassin for Wilson Fisk, taking out some of New York’s (and the world’s) highest crime lords—no matter what bystanders got in his way. Norman, however, is hiring Gargon for something else… something that could save his life. And he’ll do anything to get it.
Along the way, Peter is struggling to accept himself, as both Spider-Man, and Peter Parker. Through friendship and some unexpected feelings, Peter goes on a journey of self-discovery whilst tackling one of his toughest villains yet.

Peter had been avoiding this coffee shop for weeks. It had been the one he went to daily right up until the end of the school year, just before summer, but then the barista he'd befriended had asked him out on a date, and he'd really only seen her as just that: a friend. He let her down gently and ran off before anything else could be said, and he hadn't looked back, absolutely terrified of disappointing anybody, and yet it seemed that it was the only thing he knew how to do these days. It was a doomed sort of existence.
Peter Parker officially had no one. Ish. Spider-Man had people, but Peter Parker didn't. His friends were gone, his parents were dead, so was his uncle, his aunt was right on their heels, and he was about to head into senior year already one leg in the grave, and that was an impressive statement for a seventeen-year-old boy. But now he's encountered a country boy who's too sexy for his own good and is glued to Peter's hip, and maybe this won't end badly for once. But everybody has their secrets, and either they get exposed or tear things down. Peter knew that all too well.

It all ends up becoming too much for the poor hero, who decides to end it all
But in a surprise turn of events, not only does Peter survive, but he also gains new powers and a new perspective in life. So now, he’s decided to stop wallowing in self-pity and start making a difference

After setting down the recorder, Peter then slid on his gloves before lifting the lid of the small enclosure. He then reached down and, taking the barely visible piece of nanotechnology and setting it on his fingertip, he slowly reached down towards his little mouse friend he’d affectionately named Steve, because that was the best possible name for such a creature and not at all just the first name that had popped into his head. The tiny creature lost the use of his back legs a year ago, and Peter had been seeking to help the little tyke overcome the effects en route to doing the same for Flash and hopefully millions of others.
“Alright, little buddy,” he said as he slowly lowered his finger containing the small device towards the creature. “Nice and easy...”
