Peter always knew he was the odd one out in his family. It wasn't like he didn't try, he did try to be apart of the family just when he was younger and it never worked. He was never able to connect with anyone, at least not the way Harley connected with their dad, or the way Morgan had everyone wrapped around her little finger since the day she was born.
Peter was just there, in a way he believed that he wasn't important, not to his family anyway. That was what he always believed, at least before he got his powers and became the one and only Spider-man.
Maybe there was a reason why he was always the odd one out after all.

Peter’s life feels like clockwork. He spends the day at his normal job, volunteers at FEAST three times a week, and patrols most evenings. He does everything he can to not be home alone with his thoughts, too worried that the feeling like a failure will seep in the longer he’s alone.
It's only when Ricardo, the manager of FEAST, provides an update that Peter realizes he's spiraling.

This is a continuation of "Spider-Man: A World Apart," a What-If story telling the entire tale of Spider-Man if he had been born and raised in the DC Universe. This story sees Peter through his university years and beyond, his next few years as Spider-Man.
Current Arc: Murderworld (Chapters 19 - ?) - Spider-Man, Venom, Black Cat, Batman, Catwoman, the Dogpound, Wild Dog and Catman have all been transported by Toyman to the villain's Murderworld, an island where these heroes and villains, along with many others who have been taken in recent weeks, must battle to the death in order to survive. Can Toyman's game be beaten, or will only one survivor step from the rubble when everything falls apart. (AKA Cats & Dogs Part II)

Peter had been hearing about his so-called “Parker Luck” for as long as he could remember. Up to now, the message had been clear: stay careful, stay out of trouble, and no one else would get caught in the fallout of his life. After May’s death, he’d taken it seriously, he’d kept people at arm’s length, avoided getting too close, convinced that if he didn’t, no one else would end up hurt because of him.
And yet here he was, crouched over an injured Avenge, or at least someone dressed like one, in a filthy New York alley, bleeding and barely conscious. “Parker Luck” apparently had a way of laughing in his face.

My life was a mess. I mean, it had always been chaotic — that kind of comes with the package when you're Spider-Man — but now it was on another level. First I killed Norman Osborn, crossing a line I swore I would never cross. Then I lost the girl I love and watched the city I try so hard to protect start looking at me like I was part of the problem. But it was okay. All of that served as a lesson and showed me what I really needed to focus on from now on: being better. Doing better. Honoring what Uncle Ben always believed I could be.
But apparently the universe decided that wasn't enough chaos.
Because right after that I got pulled through some crazy portal into another reality and discovered there are multiple versions of Spider-Man running around. Then I came back home and a few days later two ridiculously strong monsters were practically demolishing Harlem while trying to kill each other. Then Tony Stark — who until yesterday was just a billionaire genius — showed up flying in a suit of armor straight out of a sci-fi movie. And, as if that wasn't enough, a bald guy with an eyepatch showed up calling me to New Mexico to deal with… gods?

He had about 3 hours of sleep this whole week and now it's Friday, aka the day of the field trip, but honestly, seeing as he is too tired to go to school let alone travel around a 93 floor building with a pest named Flash calling him slurs or making fun of his pretty much freshly buried Aunt. So Peter skips the school day to maybe take a break, get some sleep, then help out the interns, Tony, labs, and just try to get in some CEO practice considering he will take over SI after Pep and Tony retire. But thanks to Parker Luck™, that won't be the case.
