Summary
It has been two weeks since Peter witnessed Flash getting hit with a belt by his dad, and it is safe to say he is worried. He hasn't seen Flash at all. It took cornering his stepsister, Jackie to find out that he had been avoided Peter out of embarrassment and fear.
Their English teacher forced them to study together after school, and Peter is trying to get Flash to talk to him but it is not working. After another horrible altercation Flash has with his father, Peter is determined to get both Flash and Jackie out of that apartment because he's a superhero dammit.
Or, Peter is desperate to help Flash get out of his abusive home, Flash and Jackie bond, and Aunt May is always down for an adventure.
***This fic is following the events of the other stories in this series, but it can be read as a stand alone as well.

Summary
Flash Thompson had bullied Peter Parker for as long as anyone at Midtown could remember. It wasn’t complicated. Peter was small, distracted, nerdy, and way too easy to piss off. Flash didn’t exactly think of himself as a villain—he just thought of himself as superior. Some people were meant to shine brighter; some people were meant to be stepped on.
Or at least that was what he told himself.
The truth was more embarrassing: there was something about Peter that got under his skin. Something that reminded him of things he didn’t want to remember—being small, unheard, underestimated. So he pushed those reminders down and shoved Peter along with them.

Peter Parker's really going through the ringer, and that's saying something, considering his usual life experience.
For one, he's realized that he's actually a trans woman, through some VERY heavy trials and tribulations, chief among them being the fact that she's been influenced by an ALIEN PARASITE for the past few weeks, and it's because of this alien she realized she's trans, so it's kind of a mixed bag on it.
For two, her and Aunt May's house is at risk of being sold off to someone if they keep missing the bill payment times, which is just WONDERFUL, considering it's basically become her childhood home and has memories of Uncle Ben with it.
And for three, on account of that damn alien parasite, her relationship with her friends has rapidly deteriorated. While out patrolling, she found a church bell and headed over, hoping to get some peace from all this alien nonsense, since she's noticed it DOES NOT like large amounts of sound.

Peter Parker's life was at a point where he was content. He could manage his dysphoria and was on the way to relieve a whole lot of it. Spider-man had not gotten a major injury in two months. Aunt May and him were in an agreement on Spider-man. He had food, he had a roof above his head and he was doing alright. No one's life was perfect, but the good and the bad things balanced out.

It all started when May was placed into quarantine. Whooping Cough, she said. A patient had coughed on her during her triage, it was just a precaution. Completely treatable, he knew.
