he ran like hell for years almost reaching out multiple times. he never did though, not when shane had his accident the month after that day but he tried when he saw shane win the cup, again when shane got outed but he backed out every time. he was going to for sure though when he saw an article about how shane left the NHL because of it. he didn't have the chance to because soon after that he would come face to face with the very thing he was running so far from.
