Summary
Shane Hollander knows he’s not a small guy. Years of hockey and workouts have built up his muscles, and lucky genetics from his father’s side places him just shy of six feet. He’s checked hockey players half a foot and several pounds more than him, knocked Scott Hunter into the ice in the one fight he’s ever actually thrown hands in. But as much as Shane loves the game, the fast movements, passes, and team camaraderie, there were times where he could only feel regret at following the path of athletic fame. He puts on the media smile he practices in the mirror as he brushes his hair each day, uses the bright lights of press conferences to erase his view of the audience, and keeps his answers simple and focused on hockey.
The number of people outside the arena still makes him feel crushed in on all sides, small. Eyes trained on his face, cameras flashing, pens and cell phones being passed into his hands. The itch of it all settles under his skin.

Summary
Shane is Student Government President and Ilya is a Frat President but neither are what the other originally thinks. Shane thought Ilya was a careless party boy and Ilya thought Shane was a square. They spend years floating around each other at school until Shane becomes Ilya's tutor. When they are both nominated for their University's Homecoming Court, they find each other at a party together with Rose Landry and it becomes impossible to resist each other.
This fic was heavily inspired by someone saying that Ilya is the "Darcy" of the Heated Rivalry Universe. As a Jane Austen lover, I selfishly wanted to two to discuss the book and I loved the idea of Shane loving rom coms and the two identifying with the characters.

It is the year 781 Shane Hollander is a prodigy squire poised to become a knight in Normandy. Serving Sir Scott and Lord Kip of Dieppe means joining Scott in his keeping of the French coast, watching for the British and the new Viking scourge. After hearing about the massacre in Essex, Scott is determined to preserve as much life as possible and enters into negotiations with the Danes to ensure financial and physical security to his people. To do this, he has invited the Danes to witness a tournament in his hometown. Will the Vikings enjoy the display, be impressed by French combat prowess, or will he be handing over the keys to the Seine?
Shane is looking forward to his first Squire Games at the tournament and is completely focused on preparations and victory. Well, almost completely focused. A certain Viking with alluring eyes and a devilish tongue is making that very difficult, especially when their chemistry awakens something in Shane. Something deep inside him keeps pulling his eyes away from his target to Ilya Rozanov.
