Summary
France 1941 and resistance is just about forming. The woman simply known as Madame Anne runs a brothel and does what she can for the French resistance. Using her women, her wits and her brains she does what she can to help resist Nazi occupation, including planning prison breaks. With her trusty friend Genevieve there to help, Penelope is determined to do whatever she can to free France.
Colin Bridgerton and his sister Francesca are newly trained spies dropped into France in order to help set Europe ablaze, but with limited guidance as early agents it's hard to know what to expect. When Francesca vanishes over night it's clear she has been captured. Colin must seek out Madame Anne to help him hide and plan his sisters escape. The problem is in enemy territory with spies being hunted and brutally punished Colin cannot be sure who to trust and neither can Madame Anne. Still if Colin wants Francesca freed and Penelope wants British help they'll have to try and trust each other.

Oscar Piastri is his platoon's only specially trained sniper and he was practically left for dead when Major Mark Webber commanded him to stay in a forest where nobody from the army was until the warhorn sounded. He didn't really encounter anyone until he spotted shadows in the rain (somehow) and before he could even aim properly, he was shot in the abdomen but in a desperate attempt, shoots the people shielded by the rain.
He was taken in by the same guy he shot but there was no bitter intent coming out of the man's mouth. Maybe there was but they spoke little. Oscar was taken care of for the night but the man that took care of him was on the enemy team so he headed off back into the forest
