Everyone saw the fire that happened at the apartment building. Everyone saw the scenes which led to the death of Pat Halstead, beloved father of Detective Jay Halstead and Doctor Will Halstead.
Everyone saw the investigation. Everyone saw the teamwork between Jay Halstead and Kelly Severide. Everyone saw the foot chase between Jay Halstead and Juan Mendoza. Everyone saw and heard the shots fired between the pair. Everyone saw the bullets which Jay Halstead took, and the wounds they caused - a nasty bruise on the chest, along with a through & through on his side.
Lastly, everyone saw the lecture from Sergeant Hank Voight to Jay Halstead. Nobody can forget those words.
But what happened after Hank Voight's lecture at the back of the ambulance? This is where we begin our story.

Jay and Leah stayed in Chicago while Will was away in NYC for medicine studies and early practice. That was a long time ago. Will returned but after their mother's death. Jay is not bringing that up but resentment for being there was there. Will stopped receiving calls and never replied texts. He never attended the funeral. Then he returned a week after. He came up with work thing knowing that his detective brother and 'I feel everything' sister won't believe. They were not always distant. And since he came back from New York, everything about him wasn't much Will.

“Pipsy has brought the Blood Traitor to the infirmary,” the elf mumbled, eyes glittering with familiar madness. “Pipsy has completed his task. ‘Is going now.”
Barely noticing when the House Elf left, Conner scrambled to Will’s prone form, sprawled out on the stone floor of the infirmary. Momentary panic telling him that Will was dead. Closer observations showed that Will still breathed.
