S4 fix-it with lots of angst, themes of domination/submissiveness, Buffy being a control freak and Faith needing to be controlled!

Summary
Shane and Ilya never got close to each other: they’re still rivals and they still hate each other after 8 years.
When Ilya arrived in the US 8 years ago, he decided to join one of those apps where you can learn a language with a native speaker. Thankfully, you don’t have to share your real identity to join the app, so he was able to make a few friends on the app while improving his English-speaking skills. However, one person in particular really stands out after all these years.
Roughly 8 years ago, Shane joined an app to learn Japanese with native speakers to make his mother happy, but he quickly became friends with a native Russian speaker who wanted to learn English. He loves that his Russian friend (who might be his closest friend) doesn’t know who he is, and the fact that he regularly teaches him a few Russian slurs to use on the ice when he’s facing Rozanov is an added bonus.
They might not really hate each other after all…
The story is going to be written from the points of view of both Ilya and Shane.
English isn’t my native language.
