“The district 11 male tribute will be…” Ming Ming paused to squint at the paper, “Sokka, son of Hakoda!”
“And now for the ladies...” Ming Ming said, but Katara barely hears her. Greif has already set in. Katara knows her brother, strong as he is, will not survive a Hunger Games, not against the terrifying fire-bending tributes from districts one, two and three. The odds are never in her family's favour.
This is proven true when Ming Ming announces that the female tribute from district 11 will be Katara.

Following the demise of Lu Ten, Ozai's attempt to leap over his brother Iroh as heir to the Throne infuriates Fire Lord Azulon, who seeks to punish his youngest son accordingly. Only this time, Azulon demands Azula's death, not Zuko's. The two young siblings are there to witness it, and their lives will never be the same.
Canon divergence from the night in which Azulon orders Zuko's death. This story will intend to cover the timeline of the original show up to and following Sozin's Comet and beyond.

Kaz has two real talents: firebending and getting herself into spectacularly bad situations.
Maybe that’s why she ended up exiled from the Fire Nation, branded a traitor, and co-founding an underground network with her old mentor to stop a war she accidentally helped start. Now she’s tangled up with a twelve-year-old airbender who thinks friendship solves arson, his very suspicious siblings, and a sky bison that snores louder than a volcano. Worse, her past has caught up in the form of her childhood best friend — who’s currently chasing them across the world to impress his lunatic father.
She’s fine. She’s making it work... if “work” means treating firebending like experimental science, turning her trauma into a running joke, and pretending she doesn’t care about authority (she does, she just hates it). As tempers flare and negotiations break down after the Hundred Year’s War, the only issue the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom can agree on is that Azula is dangerous. The fallen princess is bartered as a negotiation point and after her bending is taken, she is sent to the Southern Water Tribe as an indentured servant to help them rebuild after the war.
Fate intervenes and Azula is offered a new gift as her old life is stripped away. She sets her mind to becoming a Life Binder and Azula looks to begin a new life as the world she grew up with fades away. Becoming the Jade Sage, she finds that even with her new skills, the world is a dangerous place and her past may still come back to haunt her.
