This was requested by a friend of mine, they know who they are, who has graciously allowed me to share this with those who are also so inclined to this sort of thing. Summary
At the beginning of his seventh Hogwarts year Harry decides to search for the Horcruxes on his own, leaving Hermione and Ron behind at Hogwarts. While following uncertain leads, he forms an unexpected bond with a rare magical snake who accompanies him on his journey, even as he is forced to face Voldemort sooner than anticipated.
Meanwhile, Hermione and Ron remain at Hogwarts, where they restart the Defence Club and begin preparing other students, quietly building resistance within the school.
