Summary
Flayn visits Fhirdiad a few years after the war, no longer wishing to hide and cower from foes and fate alike.
The two halves of her heart are there: Annette, an exhausted teacher at the School of Sorcery, and Ashe, finally a knight in service of King Dimitri. She doesn't know that Annette and Ashe have been sleeping together for months, as casually as they can, trying to keep a lid on their growing feelings for one another.
When Flayn arrives, all three of them become happier than ever. But Annette is working herself to death, and Ashe would die for his king, and Flayn feels her body cry out for the long Nabatean slumber.
She doesn't want to leave behind a mess. She might have to.
