Loose inspiration from the reference material, I try to keep the events based on the canon timeline, but there's a lot of room for expansion. Has an original magic system that breaks a few rules of the old one. This fic has a bit more focus on emotional relationships rather than action.

Crickets chirped outside. Will stared at him, heart suddenly doing something dangerous and fluttery against his ribs. Mike wasn't looking at his eyes now, because his gaze had dropped to the zipper of the sleeping bag, bracing for rejection. "Oh."
