Summary
This is a modern alternative universe where two different Carols take center stage. One is Carol Sturka, a bestselling author living in Albuquerque, who has a tendency to drown both her grief and her pessimism in alcohol and who fiercely defends her privacy. The other is Carol Aird, a New Yorker, happily married to her lifelong love the photographer Therese Belivet.
When Therese meets Carol - the writer - during a photoshoot to promote her latest book, it marks the beginning of a long-distance friendship.
No harm will be done to Carol and Therese, I promise. Also, no alien virus and no hivemind. However, a tall brunette named Zosia will obviously be there. On the agenda: fun and fluff, and a touch of angst, surrounding a character on her difficult way back to life and love.
