.Nikolay Petrov is a 16-year-old Russian twin who was adopted by an American family in Redding, California, after moving from Russia in 2014. At first, life in America feels full of promise for him and his twin sister: an unfamiliar country slowly becoming home, school days blending into new friendships and routines.
That changes in 2015 when his sister drowns in Whiskeytown Lake, leaving Nikolay to navigate grief in a place that already felt foreign.
By 2016, he is still trying to piece his life together when a new student arrives at school: Anais De Vos, a girl from Belgium with an intense and persistent presence. She seems to take an unexpected interest in him, following him between classes, showing up before and after school, and getting under his skin in ways he doesn’t ask for.
At first, Nikolay finds her unbearable. But over time, what begins as irritation turns into something more complicated. Beneath the constant intrusion, they start to recognize something in each other: fractures, family struggles, and losses they don’t easily talk about. Against both of their expectations, an unsteady but unbreakable bond begins to form.

Oscar Piastri is his platoon's only specially trained sniper and he was practically left for dead when Major Mark Webber commanded him to stay in a forest where nobody from the army was until the warhorn sounded. He didn't really encounter anyone until he spotted shadows in the rain (somehow) and before he could even aim properly, he was shot in the abdomen but in a desperate attempt, shoots the people shielded by the rain.
He was taken in by the same guy he shot but there was no bitter intent coming out of the man's mouth. Maybe there was but they spoke little. Oscar was taken care of for the night but the man that took care of him was on the enemy team so he headed off back into the forest

Then the driver leans over and punches the passenger on the side of his face, the camera tracking the way the passenger’s head whips to the side and smashes into the window, blood spraying from his mouth to coat the tempered glass. And many of them sometimes jump back and forth. For me this is important because language is an important part of consciousness. But do not be scared, every phrase has a translation!
