Because chaos follows people, not just a postcode. He lost the home, the pension, the quiet dignity of thinking he’d done right by his son. He cheated—or didn’t, or wanted to, or couldn’t help it, the lines got smeared somewhere between a devil on his shoulder and a man’s lips on his earlobe.

It wasn’t like he could tell Will he was getting drunk every other day so he could try to drown out the fact that he was a disgusting queer, in love with his best friend. “Sorry.” He looked down at his lap. He could feel his thighs bleeding underneath the blanket. “Im just tense, with the whole apocalypse thing. It’s nothing.”
Will looked over Mike’s face in the contemplating way he always did when he didn’t believe Mike. “That’s not nothing,” he breathed. “I know we’re all dealing with what happened with Vecna…but you’ve been drinking a lot Mike,” his voice was getting shakier as he continued to speak. “Im really worried about you.”

The alcohol definitely calmed him down. Quieted the panic in his head that came with being a queer. But he still knew what he was. He still thought about it. He still wanted to die.

kind of set in the style of an og monster of the week ep, i miss the folklore aspects that were explored more often in the earlier seasons. and, as much as i love the mainly-midwest setting, i think the show really missed an opportunity for some good southern gothic adventures.

“I was in love with you,” He mumbles, voice heavy with wetness and choked down tears, barely coherent. But Mike stills beside him at once, the furious up and down of his chest stopping entirely.
Will harshly swipes off incoming tears.
“What?” Mike says, dumb and stupefied, “When?”
“Before,” He replies, trying his best not to cry. Mike, finally, leans away and ends their contact leaving Will cold.
“Before or after Tammy?”
His voice came out tight and controlled. Will felt like a child throwing a tantrum.
“Mike,” He somehow gains the strength to match that collected cadence, “You are Tammy.”
It's been two years since everything ended. Since the Upside Down closed, El died and everything went back to normal. And now it's the summer after graduation, the last summer he ever spends in Hawkins, spends with Mike Wheeler who Will Byers has been trying to get over for the past two years among other things such as trying to pretend he isn't actively falling apart.
When Max, Lucas and Dustin all leave town for a week, leaving Mike and Will to each other. A series of explosions occur between them, decisions are taken, mistakes are made and things change.

Marley begins to spiral himself into insanity, discarding his family, years of his life and sanity to plot and scheme Scrooge and Belle's demise - All in an effort to have Scrooge to himself, believing that they are destined for one another, but are his efforts in vain?
This is a prequel to an already finished fic called Increase The Surplus Population (ITSP) and part of a 3 part series. This fic provides incredibly key context and character building plot for the characters of Marley, Scrooge and Belle. ITSP is due for a re-write once this fic is finished.
