The hallway was especially dark, and the only furniture in sight was covered with white sheets. Mike glanced around uneasily.
“This place gives me the creeps.” Will said, echoing his fear.
“We can’t leave now. I think this girl could be in real danger.” Mike said, looking down at his friend, “Is he.. Vecna.. is he here?”
Will nodded, something deep and looming behind his eyes. It was certainty, Mike realized. Will's fear wasn’t of the dark house, the covered furniture, the horribly odd circumstances. It was his connection. Like a thread that had never even come close to snapping.
"Mike, I feel it." Will’s lips were parted, his sunglasses were sliding down the bridge of his nose. He had that slightly petulant look in his eyes that he got when there was a chance of Mike not believing him, but the new kind of sternness Will had adopted as they grew older was setting in equally as fast. “This is when we finish things. This is..” He swallowed, “this is it.”
Or, in which Mike and Will do not go to college, and never fully defeated Vecna. Instead, they hunt for him throughout the areas surrounding Hawkins as he torments innocent civilians, going under the guise of ghost hunters.
