This is my first fanfiction in probably 10 years, so please be kind! Just up front, this IS a Ryers endgame, so if that isn't your thing, you may want to click away. Richie Tozier knew he liked Will Byers since he was seven years old, and in the Summer of 1985, he finally got the chance to shoot his shot, much to Mike Wheeler's annoyance. The two then fell in love and maintained a secret summer romance, which, for unexplained reasons, ended when Will moved to California. Then, a few years later, when by chance they end up roommates at NYU, it forces them both to confront their pasts, both individually and together. As they get to know each other again and slowly piece together their past, they determine whether or not their first love ever really ended.

They did it. They graduated. Sure, Hawkins is recovering (poorly) from an interdimensional monster attack and his girlfriend just died, but whatever. They graduated, and Mike Wheeler is just as happy about it as everyone else.
Except for Will Byers. Will seems about as happy as a runover puppy, and Mike makes it his summer mission to stop being such a shitty friend and give Will the best summer of his life. And if he can't do that, well--if they're going to be sad, then they can be sad together.
Cue Mike Wheeler attempting to use his emerging writing talents to give Will the D&D literary adaptation of his dreams, only to have his pen "slip" and write something a little... controversial.

At 1989— 18 months after she woke up from her coma, Max has been in recovery in California through Physical Therapy, regaining her vision, and catching up with her studies. She went back to Hawkins when she learned about their graduation date that she would apparently be reuniting with her friends- especially Lucas again. Though, not everything was sunshine and rainbows when emotionally and mentally, it is the exact opposite of that for Max. Meanwhile, Lucas may have seen her again, but it may seem like he wasn't able to entirely have gotten her back.
