The Party and the rest of their allies have all moved on, all except Mike, still distraught from losing El. He's coped for the past few years by throwing himself into his writing, but now he’s reached the final book in his series, the one book that he cannot finish, the book that he dreaded writing. The book about The Storyteller and The Mage. His frustration and rekindled sadness are interrupted by a befuddling postcard and phone call that rekindle his hope and sends him and his friends to a faraway land.

You see...Eli has this...ability. She doesn't know how. She doesn't know why. Nobody else knows other than her.
But she has the ability to heal people with her hair.
She discovered it only a year and a half ago, at the age of thirteen. She was resting after skateboarding. Her hair brushing the end of her skinned elbow. Humming a song. When she looks down to see her elbow healed. As if nothing ever happened.
She keeps her "gift" to herself. She can't risk putting them in danger. Her sister in danger. Her family, even, no matter how much she hates her mom.
But the "normal" life she wanted in Hawkins turned out nothing but normal.
