Summary
The zombies appeared out of nowhere, with no warning and no explanation.
If it weren’t for his friends, Kakashi wouldn’t have survived the first hour. Not with his phobia of germs and blood – the aftermath of finding his father’s body – holding him back.
Sasuke was born weeks before the fall of civilization. Safe behind the walls of his family’s property, he had no reason to fear the zombies outside of it. Yet as the undead make their way in and life becomes less certain, his family’s ‘gifts’ soon threaten to become more of a curse.
And Naruto? Bitten but unturned, with the ability to walk amongst the undead, he’s hunted by those who want to use him to save humanity – or themselves. His gifts could be their greatest hope. Or their biggest downfall.

I'm doing a rewatch with my friends. Sometimes I comment in the form of a haiku, especially using episode quotes. So I decided to make a fic. It's basically going to start with the episode we watched last night and keep going, since we keep rewatching. A lot is going to be inspired by episode quotes; some might be my thoughts/feelings about the characters/show/plot, including an occasional AU moment for that episode. From time to time I might stray into other episodes if the thought came up while watching. Thanks for reading!

Grian remembers the day it happened. It had been a slow day at the clinic, and he'd been feeding all of the overnight pets when there had been a commotion up front. There had been these horrible screams that he still couldn't forget. He had rushed out to see what was going on, only to find the place filled with zombies—Skizz being one of them.
He had quickly grabbed the other vet techs and brought them to the back room where the animals were kept, locked the door, and barricaded it.
His coworkers had dwindled quickly, and after only a week, it was down to only him and Mumbo. Mumbo had better survival instincts than anyone else in the clinic apparently.
It had only been a month since then and now Grian was out scavenging for food for him and his best friend. He had on a thick wool coat to prevent bites and a rusty iron pipe at his side, clutched in a gloved hand. They had plenty of first-aid supplies, so they didn't need to worry about that. Their only concern was protecting what they have, food, and clean water. They even had plenty of padding since the clinic kept it for the more aggressive animals to prevent bites.
