Lisa Henderson didn't like Steve Harrington. Not at all.
They were best friends as kids and now they didn't talk, and Lisa was content in forgetting about his existence. That was until he started dating her best friend, Nancy Wheeler. Trying to adapt to his unwelcome return into her life, as well as trying to stay out of whatever her brother Dustin and his friends were secretly up to was no easy feat, especially when literal monsters were thrown into the mix.
Lisa Henderson didn't like Steve Harrington, but she also couldn't seem to get rid of him.
And maybe, just maybe, she didn't actually mind all that much.

Michael and Mary Wheeler are basically attached at the hip. Being twins and all it does make sense. Yes, sometimes they do fight but who can blame them? That's like siblings 101. Most of the time it's about stupid stuff anyway so it doesn’t even matter. Most of their free time is spent together. Either with the rest of their party playing or planning D&D campaigns, or by themselves with Mary sketching and Mike playing a video game. They don’t always talk in those moments, just being in each other's presence is enough.
But as for right now, they’re currently with the rest of their party in the climax of the campaign Mike has been talking about and planning for weeks.

Jonathan pulled down his visor in his car, taking a moment to make sure his hair looked okay. Steve always seemed to find him attractive, whether he was disheveled or more ‘put together’, but that didn’t stop him from checking. He ruffled his hair a little before he closed the visor, satisfied with the messy, but not too-messy look he had going on. He grabbed his messenger bag from the passenger seat before he made the short walk up to Steve’s place. He’d parked on the side of the road, using the woods behind Steve’s house to get there without being seen by his neighbors in broad daylight.

Will Byers, small and gaunt and barely twelve, was found dead on a cold November night, police sirens screaming, tires crunching on gravel, gruff voices breaking down the situation at hand.
The body was stone-cold and lifeless — he’d been dead for more than a day. That was what the reports implied, anyway.
The Wheeler family wouldn't have learned about it through any official means; they weren't family to the boy, so there was no reason for them to be informed beforehand about Will’s unfortunate fate.
Mike Wheeler found out about it at school.
Will Byers goes missing November 6th, 1983. He's found dead in the water of the quarry a handful of days later — that's what everyone keeps telling him. But they don't see what Mike does. They don't know that for Mike, it's almost like Will never really disappeared at all. He's hiding from something — but Will has never hidden from Mike.
