Summary
Hopper finds that in the Kamchatka gulag, there's not often changes in routine. Wake up, eat half a slice of moldy bread, work on the railroad in freezing conditions for twelve hours, try to avoid attracting the attention of the guards so you don't get the shit beaten out of you, get watery soup and more mouldy bread, collapse and sleep. Over and over again.
Routines are always the same until they aren't, and after a brief assignment to a different labor detail - demolition in a lab inside the main gulag complex - he meets a scientist with an unexpected connection to an old ally who could be his way home.

Author's Note: The original character in this is technically Ulana Yuriyvna Khomyuk from the HBO Miniseries Chernobyl. Basically just had a thought of: what if that character was in Kamchatka? And ran with it.

There's a new restaurant across from Eddie's game store - and that is just his newest problem.
Hot cuisine or whatever it's called isn't something he thought he needed in his life. He's more of a greasy cheeseburgers, cigarettes and dry cereal kinda guy. All things considered, the hip new place with its fancy food and its thriving social media account should stand for everything he hates.
Except the owner is making it really hard - pun intended.
Because Steve isn't a superficial, capitalist asshole. He's a nice guy with beautiful hair and great hands and a quirky sense of humor and great hands and a fantastic ass, and did Eddie mention the hands? For some reason, he can't stop staring at them, which is very unfortunate - especially since Steve seems to have made it his mission to introduce him to a more varied diet, and Eddie is developing some extremely inappropriate feelings related to food and cooking here.
Between burst pipes, DnD campaigns, annoying influencers, and the shiny new mall project that is threatening their neighborhood, it's all a lot to deal with, but he guesses he'll just have to suck it up - pun, again, very much intended.

This fic takes place in the same universe as 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐓𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞, an OC based Stranger Things RPG. In this alternate universe, mysterious plants grow out of the plumbing in Hawkins. They cause people to become insane and very sick, resulting in Hawkins being put under quarantine. The government attempts to cover up any evidence of their nefarious deeds, despite the fact that it becomes such an ecological hazard and attracting the attention of environmental activist groups.
This story focuses on two original characters who are experiments much like Eleven, Henry and Kali. The only difference is that they are Russian experiments that were co-opted during the war. Numbers 012 and 013 realize that when they unite, their powers are stronger than when they are alone. This story contains references to Soviet/American relations, the complications that war brings, and the effect it has on minds of the youth as well as the world they are expected to inherit after the smoke clears. It is a story about the exploration of one's own mind in order to overcome crippling fears...and comradery.

“Robs,” he starts, already feeling a twinge of disappointment in his chest. “Do you think that Eddie might, um….ya know. Have a thing for Padma?”
She snorts. He may not be able to see her right then, but he can practically feel the eye roll.
“Dingus. Seriously?”
“What?”
“I mean, everyone with eyes has a little bit of a crush on Padma,” she says with a laugh. Like it’s a stated fact. “It’s pretty much inevitable.”
Hmm. Steve ponders this for a moment, eyes still glued to the screen, and then his face finally relaxes.
“Yeah,” he agrees. “Good point.”

Robin Buckley was an awkward girl from the beginning. She never felt as though her clothes suited her or that she fit in with the crowd of teens in her high school. Her secret of her sexuality burdened her, and no one else was there to support and share her burden.
Amalia Roberts was terrified after just moving from Long Beach, California to Hawkins, Indiana she had no clue what was in store for a girl like her, a proud lesbian with nothing to hide. Nobody was going to take that away from her no matter how hard they tried.
Scared of what was to come, Amalia picked up a job at Scoops Ahoy and met Robin. The awkward tension was palpable, and the desire was yet to be brought to the surface. Will they be able to live the life they want to live, or will they hide in the shadows?
