Summary
Hopper finds that in the Kamchatka gulag, there's not often changes in routine. Wake up, eat half a slice of moldy bread, work on the railroad in freezing conditions for twelve hours, try to avoid attracting the attention of the guards so you don't get the shit beaten out of you, get watery soup and more moldy bread, collapse and sleep. Over and over again.
Routines are always the same until they aren't, and after a brief assignment to a different labor detail - demolition in a lab inside the main gulag complex - he meets a scientist with an unexpected connection to an old ally who could be his way home.

Author's Note: The original character in this is technically Ulana Yuriyvna Khomyuk from the HBO Miniseries Chernobyl. Basically just had a thought of: what if that character was in Kamchatka? And ran with it.

You're better than that son of a bitch Lonnie any ways." Hopper nodded.

Summary
Agent Steve Harrington left Hawkins and planned never to look back. That changed when he received news that multiple young adults in Hawkins seemed to have gone missing overnight. One of them being closer to home than he had expected, bringing up painful memories from his past. Now Steve must return to Hawkins and go undercover the best he can in a town that knows his name. Steve is in a race against time to figure out where the missing people have gone and how exactly this ‘Vecna’ ties into everything.
But first, Steve must figure out who the metalhead drug dealer is in his apartment; and why said drug dealer is drinking all his chocolate milk.

This is essentially just me going "Hey what if instead of Alexei, the Russian scientist in season three was a woman? And she wound up attracted to Murray so that I'd have an excuse to write a romance about him?"
So here's Alina Polyakov, Soviet scientist. She's not just female Alexei, so she makes different choices and the plot will slowly progress away from the season as we saw it. Who knows, maybe she'll even survive! It's a work in progress.
