As Bowser tends to her, he learns about a dangerous, new force threatening the Star Spirits and possibly his people as well. So, he sets out to fight it. His companions: M and L, the two humans he hasn’t seen since they have left his body. Things start off pretty rough, but they have defeated evil together before. They will do it again.
Amid everything and as the past comes back to haunt him, Bowser realizes he has developed feelings for the Star Spirit whose name he cannot remember. They aren’t the friendship kind, but Bowser still doesn’t want to admit that he’s in love.
