Not physically lost. He knew exactly where he was going.
Emotionally lost. He still couldn't believe everything that had happened, well, had actually happened.
Sonic's words echoed in his head over and over...
Was it just in the heat of the moment? Did he really feel that way?
Finally, he saw the house that he was looking for.
Walking up to it, he knocked on the door, shivering a little from the rain weighing on his fur.
Tails really hoped that he was home.
Thankfully, after a moment, the door opened to reveal Mario, looking at Tails curiously.
Tails took a deep breath.
"Hey... It's me, Tails... From the, um, Olympics?..." He muttered, losing his confidence quickly.
Mario probably didn't even remember him. They hardly interacted aside from some basic pleasantries and competing against each other, a big shot celebrity hero like Mario probably-
"Tails! I remember you!" Mario happily chirped, his tone and words making Tails' ears perk up and his eyes widen. "What are you doing here in this weather? Come in!"

Even though they tried to follow their mark, as best as they could, and became plumbers, things just don't seem to go their way.
