Remembering was not an important part of its functions, so the people who had made kukla sometimes did something to it that removed its memories. So maybe it had been on its own before and it didn’t know that.
It waited in its tube for a long time, where it was often placed out of the way even when it wasn’t in cold storage. When it seemed like no one was coming back and it got lonely, it placed itself in soldat’s tube instead for a while.
