It didn’t take much. Light was shaking his head before he could change his face and school his expression. Before he could feel anything.
“No,” Light responded, the word seemingly passing right through L. “You’re who I could’ve been with.”
OR
L is dead; Light Yagami has won. But the loneliness he finds thereafter is disturbed by visions of a man who never could let Light bask in his victory. Morals are questioned, and the air is cleared — for better or for worse.

True, you ended up with a concussion and a lot of bruises, but it was a small price to pay. You could even say that it was worth it. Your cousin actually took a day off from work to spend time with you, and most of the town considered both of you local heroes now.
