Curtis stood in front of his mirror in his room. His clothing is loose; a simple black shirt and trackpants. His face is stoic, eyes staring into the distance.
"Captains Personal Log, June 11th, 2182. Time, 1800 hours." He cleared his throat.
"My mind keeps going back to Sergeant T'Pel. To see his skull caved in...that copper patined blood. He didnt even die to the virus, just a victim of its violence." He sits on his bed now. "It was just one casualty. Ive had dozens before." Curtis raises his head to look at himself. "In the Dominion War, with the Cardassians, Romulans. This one is different." Curtis runs his hands through his hair, making it slightly messy as he did. "This wasnt a disrupter or particle blast. It was physical brutality. Devoid of emotion save malice. I want to believe-" Curtis took a breath. He tried to quell the grief inside. "I want to believe T'Pel will be the only one. But my mind wont let me. How many more brave men and women will i lose to this goddamn weapon?" His breath hitched. The grief he felt welled up in his throat. "Jaime Alvarez. Hes a traitor. And now we found him on Vega. Once I interrogate him, he will get just what he deserves." Curtis finally stood.

“Yes, well… like I said, these are entirely mundane legal proceedings. This has nothing to do with Mr. Le Bail or the High Council.” He hands Grace a packet of paper, waiting for her to scan over it before continuing. “Even in the absence of Mr. Le Bail’s favor, the Danforth family fortune is considerably immense, especially for a woman of your…” The Attorney trails off, eyeing Grace and Faith’s depressing poor people apartment. “Economic circumstances.”
“Wait,” Grace sputters, flipping through the paperwork. “I don’t get it. Why would I inherent the Danforth family fortune?”
“Well, you are the last remaining Danforth.” The attorney explains simply. As though it’s so simple.
