This story is set in a different world, but not unlike ours. Similar to 21st century Earth, this world is inhabited by humans, who inhabit many different nation-states. This world is not a perfect or harmonious one, as it is ridden with political crises. such as automation, climate changes, pandemics, and wars.
Deities have ruled the world since the beginning of civilization, including those who are patrons of war.
But those are no longer gods of honorable battles and brave warriors, as those are now obsolete.
As warfare evolved, so did their gods.
The spear gave way to the missile.
soulless war machines took the place of the valiant warriors.
Instead of glorious battle cries and triumphant parades, war now has datasheets and battle damage assessments.
