But there’s no time because all of that fighting caught the attention of hired mercenaries who have come to deliver punishment for Chosen’s crimes. While escaping, Chosen is hit and falls into the water. Before he has a chance to orient himself or recover, he’s surfacing somewhere totally new. Then going back under. Curse his inability to swim.
Merlin was sending off his king when the world decided to throw him a curveball in the form of a weird teenager who he had to save from drowning. He is so not in the mood for this.
TLDR: Merlin now has a younger brother.

No, what made this one so very different from the rest was the novel scar taking shape, freshly crusted over and having rubbed a smear of blood over Gwaine’s ribs. Pale skin giving way to red irritation in the markings of his own teeth. Deep ridges and harsh valleys distinguishing fangs and a closed circle of desire and union.
i.e uh oh Merlin and Gwaine got drunk last night and sort of, kind of, got married (or mated, really)... Let's give Gwaine a mental breakdown over it :)
