He yawned as he turned to his left, gazing upon the black hair which was the only thing visible from his husband hiding underneath the blanket. He smiled as he turned over to just look at Merlin in the quiet moments of the morning, belonging just to them.

The words got stuck in Arthur's throat as he watched his sister's face pale, her expression morphing into disbelief and panic.
“Morgana, what—?”
He couldn't finish, because she clenched her fists and the nearest barrel caught flames from nothing. Her green eyes emitted lightning, flashing gold, like the embodiment of heavenly fury. She waved her hand, extinguishing the fire she caused, then turned towards him.
“It was Merlin,” she said, voice cold as ice. “They can't find Mordred.”

There was very little gentleness in most of Arthur's physical interactions. He was a warrior, but even outside of that, his role as a leader meant that by necessity he had to maintain a certain distance and decorum that contained a different kind of violence. Sometimes he wondered if the safety of that distance was worth the ache of isolation.
Or: 5 times Arthur noticed Merlin using his gentle hands to tend to his knights and one time Merlin took care of Arthur himself.

Magic has lost so much from the purge and the years after and the first rule of magic is that there must be balance, so it gives back. Creating the Kingdom of Oplaria, rled by King Emrys.
But Merlin is not so keen to abandon his destiny and Arthur, he spends his time between the two Kingdoms constantly torn between his friendship with Arthur and his duty to his people and magic. He is good at secret identities after all.
But with Arthur constantly sidelining Merlin how long can he make excuses to stay?
And how much will this change not only the Prophecy but also the future of Albion?This is follows the show from Season 3 episode 8 -> Season 4 episode 7 but will include storylines from other episodes.

Merlin hopes to convince Arthur that magic is totally good instead of him and Morgana just being an exception. Morgana, meanwhile, hopes to convince him to usurp his father. As allies are gathered and Arthur realizes the injustice in his kingdom, it looks more and more like he will have to act in a drastic way. A way he dreads.
Meanwhile, Arthur and Merlin are growing closer and closer and might just have feelings for each other. Something they probably should be better about realizing, considering the example of Gwen and Morgana right next to them.
