Fount hummed thoughtfully, her gaze flicking up to the setting sun. She couldn't lie—her mind had wandered quite a bit during the picnic, her thoughts drifting to a tangle of half-formed worries and thoughts. But now, as they walked, she felt a calm settle over her. "Perhaps I was a bit… distracted." She said finally, voice soft. "The Spring Equinox is soon, and I've been worried about the preparations for quite a long time now." Salt's grip on her hand tightened ever so slightly, his voice steady as a heartbeat. "The tides don't rush the moon, my lady." A pause. "And the Equinox won't arrive a moment before it’s meant to." He turned his head just enough to catch her eyes in profile—the sunset painting them molten gold: "You’ve poured enough of your light into these preparations already… Let me carry some of that weight for you tonight?"
Fount huffed out a laugh, her lips curling into an amused smile. The thought of letting someone take on her stresses was both tantalizing and worrying in equal parts. But she was growing more and more tired. "I would rather do this on my own." She answered finally, though her smile took on a hint of teasing.
