He doesn’t know what possesses him to say it. Maybe the wine, or the fever of being seen again. Maybe something far older than either.
“I could paint this,” Dazai murmurs, eyes tracing the way the light halos Chuuya’s hair. “This exact scene. The lamps, the colors, you looking away as though you belong to no one.”
Silence folds over the table. His pulse quickens, every instinct screaming *idiot*.
Chuuya turns, the faintest crease in his brow; surprise, not offense. Then, a ghost of a smile, so slight it almost hurts.
“Well,” he says quietly, tilting his glass, “I wouldn’t mind being painted by the great Dazai Osamu once in a while.”
Dazai laughs. “Ah, but you’d regret it. I ruin my muses. One way or another.”
“Then, you’d have to catch me first.”

Summary
A year and some change after college graduation, Mike Wheeler is living in his parents' basement.
It isn't as pathetic as it sounds - he's also got a publishing deal, and he's putting the finishing touches on his debut novel.
It's even more pathetic than it sounds - he's got nobody left to hang out with in Hawkins except his ex-girlfriend and his sister's ex-boyfriend, and his best friend isn't returning his calls. The Wheeler house is a pressure cooker and he’s newly terrified that he might be identifiably bisexual. He's totally not spiraling. Everything's hunky dory.
Really, it's ideal timing. Will's due in Hawkins for Thanksgiving any day now, possibly with his beloved sack of hair gel, the ur-yuppie, Country Club Carlton. Mike definitely still knows how to exist in a room with him.
OR:
Mike goes through a late bi awakening, crashes out, comes out, grapples with Catholic guilt, and pines over a Will Byers who might no longer have a place in his life for him - not necessarily in that order.

That man, a sailor named Dean, not accustomed to life on land but rather to freedom of a life on the sea, will have to stay and live with that strange lighthouse keeper used to loneliness until the supply boat comes.
They'll have to live together, with all their differences and similarities. A daily challenge that will become less and less difficult as the days go by, but other difficulties and questions will surface. -

It was a warm day, or as others would say, a whimsical one at that. That said, you could probably tell that it was the season of cherry blossoms- basically spring. The sky was a milky blue, with the clouds hanging like pastel pink and orange cotton candy due to the sun casting hues. It was as if the sky were a soft blanket covering the earth.
Izuku dragged his feet along the dirt path, on his way home from school. The sun made his mind go fuzzy, and he dragged a hand across his face. He looked around, and spotted two trees, and he walked over to them, dropping himself on the base of the bigger tree.
As he took in the surroundings, he spotted a small pond- it was insanely clear, and it looked as if someone poured glitter on it from how much it was shining. The fish in the water were small, and the flowers and paddies floating on the surface were pretty enough to attract ones attention immediately.
Izuku looked at it for a while and then decided to take some pictures. He was into art, after all. What was the harm of trying to draw a small scenery? But little did Izuku know, this one decision to try out drawing was going to change his life. -

From hosting tea parties, browsing the library, and occasionally teaching etiquette classes to those interested, it became normal for Teagan to visit the art room at least once a week--strictly on Mondays. That was the day that Gardenview was the least busy--and the day a particular paintbrush was the least busy as well.
For Brusha, Teagan's consistent presence was new, but not unwelcome. It was... pleasant seeing such a beautiful woman that carries herself with such elegance and poise walk around such a messy area; it was slightly amusing seeing the contrast.
Between intricate paintings and private tea parties, something deeper than acquaintanceship blossomed between the two women--something deeper than either of them realized.

The boy must see something in the way Mike says that because he scrambles up and walks over to sit beside Mike.
“You can read my copy, if you want.” He hands Mike the book. Mike feels that emptiness that was left when he couldn't get the book subside. “Its got character sheets and pictures. You can even read about how to play solo adventures.”'
Mike Wheeler discovers DnD and Will Byers. They make him feel real in a world that makes him feel invisible.
