~By the time Arthur and Gwain return with the assassin, hands tied tightly behind his back, the bleeding has stopped and the boy appears to be in less pain. His wound is still a long way from being healed, but it’s no longer life threatening. Merlin, on the other hand, is barely conscious as he starts to mutter another spell. His eyes roll back for a moment before he flinches, blinks, and picks up where he left off.
“Merlin,” Arthur gently calls, concern dowsing his voice. “Merlin, stop.”
He hadn't noticed the tears until the sorcerer looked up at him, gold hesitantly giving way to blue. “You told me to fix him,” he whimpers. “I can't let him die. You know I can’t.”~Someone tried to assassinate Mordred.

Not perfectly loyal to Les Mis or Merlin, respectively. I will be writing the scenes, not just plugging song lyrics in and changing names in post. This will take time, there will be a chapter for every song in Les Mis, and perhaps a few between. I have outlined the entire story and written this prologue. Chapters won't come out on a specific schedule as I start college next week, but it is something I'm excited about. If this peaks your interest, stay tuned.

He settled back onto his haunches, a sharp, cruel light that Merlin recognised entering his gaze, the prelude to some terrible gotcha. "When did you decide that you were okay with chipping your humanity away, piece by piece? When did you stop being kind?"
"Oh, I don't know," Merlin drawled, swallowing down the little burrs of guilt that threatened to catch in his throat and stick painfully. This was not the gotcha that Mordred thought it was going to be. Well, actually it was, but Merlin had an even bigger gotcha, which cancelled Mordred's out. "I think it was around the time you killed my best friend."

“It is a generous offer, Sire,” said Mordred, avoiding Arthur’s eyes. “I must refuse, though. I fear I would not become a worthy knight.”
“Nonsense. You have all the values I seek and I can make you a fine fighter,” said Arthur, slapping him on the back. Mordred shook his head. “I won’t force you, but you must think it over.”
“I was wondering, Sire… could I perhaps become a servant?” He squeezed his eyes shut and prayed to every deity in existence so that Arthur wouldn’t—
He laughed. Hard. “A servant?” The other knights also snorted. In fact, the only person who wasn’t impressed was Emrys (as expected). He eyed him disdainfully but Mordred nodded resolutely.
“You don’t have to prove yourself, mate,” laughed Gwaine. “You know, some would give up a limb to be a knight.”
“What use would I be as a knight if I didn’t have all my limbs?” asked Mordred with a frown. “No, I really do want to be a servant.”
“You can’t possibly—”
“Really, Arthur?” came Emrys instantly.
Or Mordred fights to become Merlin's servant and apprentice to carry out his nefarious plans which somehow include all three of kiss, marry and kill.
