The timbre of her voice made Sophia freeze, heart skipping a beat. Dani leaned closer, watching as Sophia's breath hitched the slightest bit.
Sophia regarded her with wide eyes, unable to physically look away. Her ears began to burn again, pulse thrumming against her throat like a warning.

Maybe Ilya was right, maybe therapy would help.
