Summary
Katara never really cared for the stories, but now, holding the Avatar’s heart in her hand, soaking herself in his blood, she wondered if anyone would notice if she made a few amendments.
First: The avatar is dead and everyone should run
Second: No one can save you
-
Alternatively: A role reversal AU wherein Katara and Sokka replace Zuko and Azula, respectively. A few changes are made, however. The largest being that the Avatar is dead. The next is that soon, all benders will meet the same fate, including the very one that killed him.

Summary
"We're going to be alcoholics by the time we're thirty," Sokka sighed.
"You think we'll live to be thirty?" Zuko asked, honestly thrilled. Sokka had pretty good instincts. Perhaps Zuko should reevaluate his long term goals. He could start by having long term goals.
A more likely alternative was that Sokka was just a hopeless optimist. It just went to show, you never truly saw another man until you stood shoulder to shoulder against a fleet of war balloons intent on raining death upon the city you loved.
Zuko was just a normal guy with normal interests. He liked theatre, burglary, crotchety ostrich horses, watching the Blind Bandit crush her opponents in a glorious display of skill and violence... just your standard banished prince things. It wasn't his fault he kept stumbling into rebellions and uncovering long-buried secrets. Fine, maybe freeing the prisoners was on him, but he was completely innocent of all other treason. Zuko was his father's loyal son. He'd never betray his nation.
Or:
Uncle Iroh took a more creative approach to fostering Zuko's appreciation of other cultures. Now it's everyone's Problem. -

Summary
"And now! The moment you have all been waiting for! It is time to announce the tributes! Happy Hunger games! And maybe the odds be ever in your favour!”
Thousands of names, Katara thought desperately to herself, there are thousands of names in that bowl, it won’t be Sokka, it won't be Sokka.
“The district 11 male tribute will be…” Ming Ming paused to squint at the paper, “Sokka, son of Hakoda!”
“And now for the ladies...” Ming Ming said, but Katara barely hears her. Greif has already set in. Katara knows her brother, strong as he is, will not survive a Hunger Games, not against the terrifying fire-bending tributes from districts one, two and three. The odds are never in her family's favour.
This is proven true when Ming Ming announces that the female tribute from district 11 will be Katara.

After convincing Wan Shi Tong to allow them to explore the Library, the Gaang stumbles into the Spirit's Librarian, who happens to be an awkward, scarred, very-passionate-about-knowledge teenager.
-OR-

Summary
The gang is adjusting to life in Ba Sing Se when an unsuspected discovery lands them in custody of a surprisingly well-mannered Zuko (though his temper is a nasty thing). Exiled, powerless, and with a ridiculously large bounty on his head, Zuko has to decide how he's going to let the rest of his life play out. Trust grows gradually through trial and error, through war and laughter, and maybe just maybe through a belonging Zuko never imagined he'd feel again.
"If I am lost, light my path.
If I falter, temper my spirit.
Let my flame burn steady, not wild.
Let my fire bring warmth, not destruction.
Let me walk in balance, with honor of my own making."

After successfully escaping capture, Zuko and his friends rush to a safe haven that Aang knows about. What they find there shocks them, but that is far from the last shock they will face, and far from the end to their hardships. Summary
Fire was an element that either commanded respect or consumed fear. Aelita Kenshin had experienced both feelings during her sixteen years of life. A firebending master reduced to nothing but the hollow shell of what she once was, the Butcher of Ba Sing Se no longer trusted the power beneath her fingertips.
The entire world believed the Avatar to be dead and nearly all of the Akira's world thought she was too. Forced to leave Aelita's body behind, Aang and the others are left to grapple with the grief that threatens to overwhelm them with only their desire for peace and justice pushing them forward.
Welcomed home as war heroes next to their sister, twin Princes Zuko and Zetzu are thrust back into the game of thrones, forced to face their demons. With tensions rising faster than Sozin's Comet approaches, it's soon clear that only one of them can be left to inherit their family's scorched legacy.
Fire is the element of power. The people of the Fire Nation have the desire and will to achieve what they want. Only time will tell if that power and desire will be too much to handle as the fate of the world is forged in fire.

Summary
The Gaang wanted a break for Aang to start learning earthbending. Instead, they got:
– A boy who jokes through every injury (and there are a lot of injuries).
– His best friend, who can crush a tree with nothing but air pressure.
– A cat.
– Zuko deciding one of them might be an airbender. What follows: fire, trauma, terrible jokes, and more found-family moments than they bargained for.
And when Zuko finally captures someone he thinks is an airbender, he has to decide whether to treat him as proof—or as a person.
This story takes place after Zuko Alone and then functions as an alternate version of The Chase. Toph has just joined the group, Azula is on their trail, and Zuko is far from Iroh’s calming influence.
The Gaang calls it “their problem now.” Zuko calls it "proof."
Teorin calls it “a disaster.” Lev calls it "a masterpiece."Don't let Lev's jokes fool you. He hides as much as he says.

Summary
(Zuko/OC • Slow Burn • Action & Romance • Canon Divergence)
They didn’t speak as the last flicker of the palace vanished from view, the silence heavier than the smoke in the air.
"There’s no turning back now," Zari breathed.
"Good," Zuko answered, eyes fixed on the horizon. "I’m not looking back."
Zari was born the Fire Scion, destined to serve the Fire Nation’s conquest. She watched Prince Zuko’s exile from the stands and spent three long years apart from the boy she could never forget. When he returns a hero, both are forced to play roles they no longer believe in- but the Day of Black Sun changes everything.
Together, they’ll abandon the palace, join the Avatar, and risk everything to end the war.

Summary
After a century of war, Zuko knows peace isn’t built from treaties alone. It’s carved from guilt, blood, and the quiet terror of wondering if he’ll ever be more than his father’s son. As he joins Aang and the rest of the gang in Republic City, Zuko carries the weight of a nation’s sins on his shoulders and the fear that no matter how many homes he helps build, his scar will always define him.
Set against the fragile years after the war and the uncertain birth of Republic City, Zuko and Katara find themselves navigating love, loyalty, and leadership while the world struggles to heal. He wrestles with the burdens of the Fire Lord’s throne, fearful of binding Katara to a crown that could cage her. She seeks to support him without losing herself, even as grief, political tensions, and sacrifice test her strength.
It is during this period of change that they grow closer. Together, they face not only external threats to peace but also the internal battles of trust, vulnerability, and the fear of losing each other. Through moments of quiet tenderness and devastating honesty, they begin to realize that love is both a sanctuary and a crucible. One that shapes them into who they are meant to become.

Summary
Out of everything Zuko couldn’t change about his life, he was glad he at least had the ability to make a difference in the lives of others.
He didn’t consider it crime fighting or being a hero. In truth, he tried to avoid putting a real label on it at all. He simply wore a mask, put on a dark suit, and he went around at night making sure people weren’t getting taken advantage of.
Or something like that. The Blue Spirit comes across a guy getting abducted, but before he can do anything about it, the guy... rescues himself?
