Pero, a pesar de saber esto, Stanley no podía dejar de atormentarse por la vívida imagen de aquellas flores emergiendo del pecho sangrante de cierto capitán codicioso ni tampoco podía dejar de reprocharse como había sido él quien plantó estas flores en primer lugar.
