Summary
A post war world reentering old times, as the many factions work to battle against their strongest foe, they fear their lack of heroes will not be enough. However, in times of desperation these heroes form. When the truth begins to be questioned, and reality seems to shift, it begs the question, "who is really the villain of the story?"
A boy who lost his parents, a girl who wants to be far from home, a father with fear turns to rage, a man just wants to live up to his name. When the world seems to be falling apart, survival becomes the main motivation. When revenge intertwines with reason, it's only about who is willing to do what must be done.

A series of fires has destroyed major businesses in Imp City and the police are out in force checking people’s papers, making sure they belong in the city and generally making sure people behave. For most citizens, this is mostly an inconvenience until Verosika finds the music hall she works at shuttered due to an ‘investigation’. Meanwhile, Blitz is in Gluttony to adopt a hellhound, and that goes completely against plan, and in Greed, a young Moxxie runs from her father, a notorious gang boss in Mint City.
Revolution is in the air, but for our heroes, all they want is to be able to get to work and live their lives, but they are drawn into it when a noblewoman is wounded and her husband killed in an assassination attempt.

Except, in the dead of night, amateur wizard Ben Sutton manages to resurrect a fairy, bringing back The Queen's General, Lark Elmrose. The two now must forge an uneasy alliance to open up the Veilgate and bring back the fairies in order to restore what once was. -
