The thing with the trolley problem, or when there's people tied down to train tracks and you have to weigh their lives and decide who matters more and who you're okay with sending an incoming train onto, is you don't get to opt out. There is no turning away. You're already involved just by witnessing the scene. You're not any more innocent for staying away from the train controls and letting those people perish.
