Synopsis:
Aurora was a very efficient vampire hunter until she met Sylvestre, the one vampire she couldn’t catch. After years of cat-and-mouse, they fell in love. When they were found out by her association, she was court-marshalled and then executed. Once she entered the underworld, her soul was deemed worthy, and she became a grim reaper, losing all of her memories, but retaining her likeness, wit, and skillset. In a fit of rage after her death, Sylvestre slaughtered all of those who aided in her execution. He sulked, killing more frequently and feasting more cruelly. Normally, he would dispose of his victims before they were fully dead – he never liked to face the reapers, which he could see. Until one day, when he lingered too long and saw 5012 – and the new reapers he was training, one of whom was her (0213). Now he kills as many as possible to just see her once more – all while figuring out how to claw his way down to the underworld.- Language:

He would look ethereal, his figure illuminated by the moonlight that shone in behind him, if it weren’t for the dejected way he carried himself. He looked agonized, clutching at his abdomen as if he’d been struck there. But upon a closer look, he grasped something white and bloody in his hands; a handkerchief, maybe? But Olson held it close, protecting it, and Stebbins couldn't make out what it was.
Olson lifts his head. The look on his face was empty, freshly woken from a deep slumber. His eyes were glazed over, his expression strangely calm; like he was still dead. Hank Olson was a walking corpse, so it seemed.

Vampires are not inherently evil, but desperation drives many of them.
They need blood to function, not technically to live. Without blood they become: weak and shaky, mentally foggy, extremely hungry (their stomach growls constantly), physically frail and slow. If starvation goes on too long, they can barely stand and become easy prey for Hunters.
Because of this, many Vampires attack villages and traveling caravans, especially during winter when prey is scarce. Some kingdoms even capture Vampires and enslave them, forcing them to work in mines, farms, or magic laboratories. They’re given just enough blood to stay alive. So Vampires see Hunters as monsters.
