There's always been rumors about what's past that forest, some say it's just your typical forest, others have told different stories, horror stories even.
Beyond the forest, in an abandoned castle, Clancy "Nova" lives without a care that the villagers want him dead. Many have wandered throughout the forest and into his castle, only for them to never be seen again. They say he has a secret, and they're not wrong.
They say he's known for luring his victims into the woods with his cries until he preys on their flesh, leaving no trace of them, making their bones into candlesticks and firewood for his home.
In the village, a young chandler by the name of Torch helps his father make candles for the other villagers, known for his unique way of creating the small wax creations.
But when his father goes missing on a trip, he has no choice but to go beyond the unknown. His only issue? It's been nearly five years with no trace, and he starts pondering the question of whether those vampire stories are true.

They need blood to function, not technically to live. Without blood they become: weak and shaky, mentally foggy, extremely hungry (their stomach growls constantly), physically frail and slow. If starvation goes on too long, they can barely stand and become easy prey for Hunters.
Because of this, many Vampires attack villages and traveling caravans, especially during winter when prey is scarce. Some kingdoms even capture Vampires and enslave them, forcing them to work in mines, farms, or magic laboratories. They’re given just enough blood to stay alive. So Vampires see Hunters as monsters.
